9 More Children Die with Measles Symptoms, 945 Infected

In Bangladesh, another 9 children died with measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours until 8 AM on Thursday. During the same period, 945 children were affected by measles and measles-like symptoms.

This information was revealed on Thursday (June 25) afternoon in the updated report published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The report stated that while 9 children died with measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours, no child died from a confirmed measles infection.

According to DGHS data, since March 15, a total of 605 children have died across the country with measles-like symptoms. During the same period, another 93 children died from confirmed measles infection. Consequently, the total number of deaths due to measles and measles-like symptoms has reached 698.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, new measles cases have been identified in 52 children. Additionally, 893 patients have been affected with measles-like symptoms. During this period, 860 children were admitted to hospitals, and 906 children were discharged after treatment.

DGHS data indicates that from March 15 to date, the total number of suspected measles patients is 96,653, and the number of confirmed measles patients is 11,442. Among these, a total of 80,497 patients have been admitted to hospitals, of whom 76,788 have already been discharged and returned home.
