Netanyahu Halts Counterattack Against Iran Following Trump’s Plea

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided against an immediate military response following Iran’s recent missile attack in northern Israel. Israeli media reports indicate he made this decision after a request from US President Donald Trump.

According to reports, Trump spoke with Netanyahu by phone after the Iranian missile strike. During the call, he urged Israel to exercise restraint to avoid a new escalation of tensions in the Middle East. Trump reportedly feared that any new Israeli attack against Iran could jeopardize ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Citing sources close to the US President, various international media outlets reported that Trump told Netanyahu that both sides had already exchanged strikes, and another military action could further complicate the situation. He emphasized the importance of de-escalating tensions through negotiations.

Earlier, Iran had launched multiple missiles towards northern Israel. The Israeli military claimed that most of the missiles were intercepted by their defense systems or struck uninhabited areas. Iran stated that the attack was in retaliation for a recent Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

According to analysts, Trump’s intervention is significant. A direct conflict between Iran and Israel could destabilize the entire Middle East anew. Therefore, Israel’s current restraint is expected to prevent the situation from escalating into a larger conflict.
